Question

A scores a TD and is one point behind; time expires during the play. Also during the play, B commits a personal foul.

Options?

Under NFHS:

B's foul is automatically decined. The period would be extended for the try. After the try, regulation time is over.

The foul is not automatically declined. That rule was thrown out last year. But A must decline the foul to get the TD.

BBR,
You are right. I knew it. I just couldn't imagine A declining the penalty.

Where would it be enforced if A wanted to accept?

Well, there is no place, that's why the auto-declined words were in there.
Maybe someday, NF will have a provision for these fouls to be enforced on the TRY or Kickoff.

Those words were removed because there have been case plays or maybe a play that actually happened where Team-B scored and does not want the penalty against Team-A auto-declined.

It's a crazy as allowing A to accept a penalty against B on a 2 point conversion and replaying the try.
