I had to buy last night cause I brought the chains out and we had a first down by more than the length of the football (by about an inch). Tough crew.

Not on my crew. My white hat scolds anyone who uses the word Head with Linesman.

Slow whistle, no whistle. Fun stuff. My crew actually had about a half-dozen plays last Friday night where noone blew the whistle. None of the coaches said anything, and there was no extra-curriculars after the play was dead. Finally, some fan piped up as we were walking off the field, saying "Do your whistles only work on certain plays?" :rolleyes:

Your white hat needs to get a life. There's a reason position placards have an H and it's not cause there's a silent H in hlinesman.

Maybe the H is silent in Finnish or something. ;)

Rich - I have the same type of deal with with my R. If the result is what I tell him before hand then he owes. This was after one game he called me out three times and I was correct on all three calls.


Welpe - All letters in Finnish are pronounced so it must be something else.

I like asking my clip guy where he prefers to put the clip. Nine times out of ten, he responds with, "wherever the referee tells me." If he has some way he likes to do it, I adjust to it. The last thing I want is the clip guy not paying attention to what I want, and doing his own thing and something getting screwed up.

If that's a crew thing, fine but it just exposes him as a fool.

He's not a fool. He just wants to use proper NF terminology. No different than insisting on saying first touching instead of illegal touching.

I would probably throw a flag and tell him I had an illegal crackback block just to see his reaction. :D
