That's why the L stays on the LOS until he is certain that the ball has crossed it. This is a perfect example of why we do that (5-man).

We have the H stay on the LOS and the L goes downfield at the snap.

Correct, Grasshopper.

It is all about terminology.

Does the NCAA rule on field goal attempts reference B's LOS, or just an expanded neutral zone, or "vicinity of the neutral zone"? It would be a heck of a thing if they fuzzed the neutral zone for scrimmage kicks generally, but left it precise when they made the rule for field goal attempts (which was about 30 years ago, maybe 25).

JR - That's what I meant. I use L and LJ for my wing abbreviations.

Not a big deal. I actually thought this might have been what you called these positions in your state. I just wanted to clarify if others like me used the usual classifications.

There is an "expanded NZ" when it comes to Team B trying to block the kick, i.e. up to 3 yds beyond the LOS is considered as being in the NZ But when it comes to being touched otherwise by Team B, there is no leeway.
