Penalty in the end zone

Thanks for each response. I have forwarded the question to Referee magazine and the response received indicated that the ruling in the magazine was incorrect and that they are publishing the correction in future editions.

This is a situation that must be addressed by the rule book. This is a play that I have fortunately not had during a game, but it sounds like something that is very possible.

Can you imagine how a coach would react to this ruling! Yikes!
