Ball placement for extra points.
Fed rules:
I wasn't on the game, but this is the situation that was described to me. Extra point, the umpire spots the ball in the middle of the field. Then, A requests that the ball be moved to the left hash. A deadball false occurs on the offense. After enforcement, A request that the ball be placed in the middle of the field. The R denied the request and the ball is on the left hash. |

NFHS 4-3-7 ...When a team may designate the spot along the proper yard line from which the ball is to be put in play, it shall have the same privilege if the down is to be replayed or a dead-ball foul occurs.
Therefore, the spot could be moved. |

8-3-1 says, "After a touchdown, the scoring team shall attempt a try during which the ball is snapped from a spot designated by A anywhere between the inbounds lines on B's 3-yard line, unless moved by penalty." It is not clear whether "unless moved by penalty" refers to "anywhere between the inbounds lines" or "B's 3-yard line."

REPLY: It could be relocated if the foul was by B, right Jason?

Yes. I should have been more specific. It also cannot be relocated if there were offsetting penalties.
