Hey Bob M

Still actively "inactive". Started a new firm then went to grad school, then brought a shore house, then, then, then..... Done with school in May, thinking of making a comeback next year. Need a re-tread on your crew?

Sure. I ask and you don't know anyone. Hmph!

It amazes me to see here on this board, officials talking down about an official who is working games at the highest level and getting play-off games at that level.

Those that assign those games must know a great deal more about this guy than any of us and yet, several here are putting the guy down---

Sounds just like fans who bad-mouth most of us.

Haven't seen anybody "downing" the man. Seems a bit of an over-reaction on your part.

Looking at it objectively- no other NFL umpire I've seen grabs and pulls and shoves like this guy. He lost a game check over it so apparently at some point even he went over the line.

I've done my job for 18 years and feel pretty good about my work. That still doesn't mean I don't get critiqued by my boss and the public.

Hlin--

You and I are not in a position to critic this man---we neither officiate at that level, nor are we privy to what they accept and don't accept and the fact remains he is still activiely getting game assignments, thus, the powers that be are happy with the end results of this man---getting the job done and making proper calls.

I have officiated for 22 years, in youth, high school and semi-pro/minor league ball and I've had several officials that had some questionable mechanics, but I damn sure wanted them on the field with me in any league at any level and I've had guys that were mechanically very sound but poor in calling or not calling fouls.

"Never say never."

There will always come a time to critique and, yes, even criticize. Failure to accept that will only guarantee mediocrity.

you are right GB, but there is a time and place for this to be done. I just don't see much good coming from bashing or criticizeing another official here.
