CAN YOU CALL A FAIR CATCH IN THE NEUTRAL ZONE ON A SCRIMMAGE KICK PER NFHS RULES?

Any R player can signal for a fair catch anywhere on the field while any legal kick is in the air. BUT it isn't a fair catch and R isn't afforded protection unless he catches the ball beyond the NZ on scrimmage kicks.

For free kicks, a fair catch can be made in or beyond the NZ.

Under NCAA rules on free kicks, each team has a restraining line. Neither team can break their respective restraining line until the ball has been kicked.

Is there a term in the NCAA for this space between the restraining line on a free kick?

Zeke,

There is not a special term for the 10 yard area between the two restraining lines under NCAA rules.

In the NF, it's the neutral zone.
