In Florida, we have our "Kickoff Classic" games this weekend. The games look like football, feel like football, smell like football ... but they don't count in the final standings (the teams that win this weekend count the win, the teams that lose call it a 'warmup' and forget it ever happened!!).
Next week, it's on for the record. |

Does anyone else play such a short season? |

Season Start
In Indiana we had "Controlled Scrimmages" on Aug. 10 and 11.
Regular season games started on Aug. 17. Everybody plays 9 regular season games. The all-inclusive play-offs start on Oct. 19 this year (5 classes), ending with the state finals weekend in the RCA Dome. |

WI Started Last Friday
And the #1 rated Div. I School won with ease. 7-3 at the end of the 1st quarter, they then scored on the first play from scrimmage on their next 5 posessions. Ah yes, HS football is back.
