Following an illegal kick the loose ball is treated as a fumble, so you have an IW by the back judge. Rule 4-2-3b would give the choice to K of replying the down or taking the ball at the spot where possession was lost. Possession was lost on the snap at the line of scrimmage. To avoid the 15 yard penalty for the illegal kick, A should choose to replay the down.
