I never once said I disagreed with the call. I just think it needs to be called more consistently. All I'm saying is that it looks kinda fishy for a call like that to be made and then the flag to be thrown after the catch is made. I have seen the replays and I seeh the BJ reach for his flag and miss, but even that I still think was after the catch, I'll have to check it and see.

Not to mention that he grabbed for his flag, missed, grabbed again, got his beanbag, started to toss the beanbag, grabbed again, and THEN threw his flag.

But as mentioned, what seems to be a late flag is just prudent officiating.

Ok you guys have abused me into submission, although I stand tall and hold my flag high! Here's one final thought. First let me say that I was rooting for Pittsburgh, and I thought Seattle had every chance to win the ball game and they choked and missed plays. But if you look at the whole situation of the game, (IE Bettis going out with a ring, rumors of terrible towels handed out at the stadium, etc...) I can see why Seattle fans feel the way they do. Look at how many fans the Steelers have, plus the majority of nuetral fans that wanted them to win for Bettis and Cowher's sake. Then you add on a couple questionable calls and next thing you know people are crying conspiracy. Going into the game, it was like Pittsburgh was destined to win, the only problem was that they were outplayed by Seattle. Seattle had so much going against them before the game even started, so any type of so-so officiating could easily be interpreted as "favorable" to the Steelers. You have to at least admit that much. That's all I'm trying to say.
By the way, I don't post on here often, but it's nice to know that something I had to say caused such a ruckus! Thanks for listening! |
