Anyone see tonight’s segment on the NFL network with Carey miced up for the spitting incident? He handled it beautifully, calm, cool, and collected. The HL appeared to have flagged the Tampa guy for the retaliation blow but Carey said he wasn’t going to penalize him for retaliation. Some of the Redskins player asked him why the Tampa player didn’t get penalized and he told them, “What would you do if someone spit in your face?” The quickly got the point. Mike Pereira said that he felt Carey and the rest of his crew did an excellent job handling the situation.

The thing I find curious is Carey went on to explain the entire incident via the stadium mic but that wasn’t carried by ESPN. With Theisman and the other booth guys going nuts, it’s no wonder we didn’t get the explanation. Carey described the incident, mentioned the spitting, and also told why there was only one foul on the play. It was perfect!!!! Too bad the general public didn’t get to see it!

I think one of the announcers, or maybe it was one of the ESPN guys said something about Carey cutting him some slack saying "What would you do if someone spit in your face. He is lucky he didn't hit him a lot harder."

That is what the guy said on the NFL network show. I saw the same show as G did. Still it set a bad example. Now if we see both fouls we only call the first one? I disagree both should have been penalized.
