I actually enjoyed Referee Steve Shaw using the mic to tell the camera man to please stay off the field instead of quitely doing it one-on-one. For all the media does in criticizing officials it was a golden opportunity to put them in their place. He was professional about it though.
What happened with 4:55 to go? After a ND touchdown the clock was put back to 5:27. I didn't notice the clock running after the TD. Did it continue to run or was it some kind of malfunction? Shaw had them put :32 back. |

I think that the previous play started with 5:37 after an incomplete pass. Once the ball crosses the goal line the play is dead. So 5:27 was proablly a good guess by the crew. ND seemed to be waiting awhile before running the play to see if it would get reviewed.

The clock definitely ran after the TD, as it was not ruled a TD on the field. The clock ran until the replay official buzzed the R. 5:27, in hindsight, was actually about 4 seconds late - on TIVO, it should have been 5:31.
