Friday night, small town No. Calif. I’m working as a replacement in a 5-man crew for a neighboring association. We’re all lined up at the 50 with our hats over our hearts for the national anthem when a set of bagpipes starts blaring away. After a few seconds I look over to the White Hat and say “Amazing Grace”? He just smiles and shrugs.

I dont think he has a problem with it at all....

However, how strange it must have been to hear bagpipes instead of our usual band...

I had no problem at all with the pipes or the tune. I loved it. I even knew the words. I was just surprised to hear something other then the usually played patriotic songs. Not that I have a problem with them either.

actually i think it is sad in some of the larger towns that can hardly play or you can hardly hear the national anthem, but their drumline makes it hard to hear the rest of the game.
