When's your opening day?

Alaska opened this past weekend (Aug 13-14). Worked a JV and a V contest. No major problems. Had an ejection, which is always ugly, but also a 90 yard kick off return for a TD.

Here in Missouri:
Sept. 1 for a few schools (my first V game)
Sept. 2 for all other schools in the area

Here in Nebraska, practices started for most schools yesterday. A handful (I believe it was 26) started last week on the 8th since they have a Week 0 game. Week 0 is "early season" game, but count against the 8 or 9 game limit (depending on classification). Week 0 (first game for the 26 schools playing in that) is August 25 or 26, while Week 1 (the "normal" opening weekend) is September 1 or 2. Next year's going to be a mess as Class A (our biggest class) will be doing a different schedule than the rest of the classes.

I'm jealous - youth football doesn't start until the 28th, and HS scrimmages don't start until 2 weeks from today. I'm not working varsity yet, so I'm not totally sure when the regular season starts.

Week 0 is this week - first few games are Aug. 18-20.
Everyone else starts next week (8/26).
