Couldnt agree more. The VL book is great reading. As a matter of fact, now that you have reminded me, I am going to read it again.
Regarding the movie. This is exactly why I did not go to the movie. I read the book when it was first published in the early 90's. Great story, but I could tell by the previews the movie would be nowhere near the quality of the book.
