Hi, i am interested in officiating football. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has an old set of the following NFHS books that you would be willing to sell to me used. I know that NFHS.com sells them, but i have never played football or officiated it so i want to make sure that i am interested in it. I would hate to pay the $40 or so that it would cost to have these 5 books sent and then realize it is not my sport.

Football Rule Book
Football Case Book
Football Handbook
Football Simplified & Illustrated
Football Officials Manual

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me. I just want to make sure i will like it before i invest alot of money into it. Please email me off list if you can help

Thanks
Mike

Mike, I'm afraid that you're going to find that most guys are like me. I save the old books and keep them for research, reference, and study. I've got them from over 10 years ago and wouldn't part with them for anything.

Contact your local association. The secretary of it should be able to help. I'm sure they have somebody who could part with some old books.

By the way, you don't need all those books to see if you're interested. Get a rulebook, casebook and maybe an illustrated. If it looks like you might try it, you'll get the books for 2005 through your association.

Good luck.

There's a guy on here named Derock that may have some unused copies.

Now Now Andy, Some people like to keep their things in pristine condition.... If you open a book it starts to get creased....
If the local Association doesn't have any,(ask who is retiring this year, you might also score some cheap gear), try the State governing body.
