From the CNN Sports Section about the Dallas-Philly game last night:

". ... An official left his microphone on in the third quarter and was heard saying, 'You can tell they're frustrated. Starting to complain a lot.'"

Kind of reminds me of the scene from one of the Naked Gun movies when Leslie Nielson leaves the lapel microphone on when he's in the bathroom.

Talking

I just can't resist in sharing this. Happened about 10 years ago at a work meeting. We have "town halls" where we sit in a multi-purpose room and listen to our divisional president. He had a mic clipped to his belt and presented to the audience over the PA system. Well low and behold he turned over the meeting to someone on his staff to present a segment of the meeting. So, while he did that he had to make a trip to the mens room. And...you guessed it left the mic on!!! Someone had to go in there and knock on the stall door. :-) LOL

Here's a funny story, i think it happened 3 years ago in a CFL game. They were using a mic that was turned on and off by the director or whomever controls the broadcast for the radio/tv and after announcing a penalty, this person forgot to turn the mic off. On the radio, everyone heard the ref say, "Move the F*cking Sticks"

The piece of advice given to us after that was if they don't have a mic that you control yourself, don't wear one.
