Well I went ahead and asked the wing official that was scheduled to be in front of the screamer coach if he wanted to give it a shot and deal with him. He said no. Turned out to be a good move as the more experienced guy nailed the coach with a sideline warning 2 minutes into the game and we really didn't have much further problems outta him.
The coach started "talking" and the wing looked over and the coach had 1 foot on the field, so he nailed him. I noticed the coach basically stayed away from my wingman most of the night.

Game ended up 28-0 but was closer than the final score indicated. It was also the best game all season as far as sportmanship goes. Kids from both sides were picking each other up off the ground. Telling each other great hit, good play, good block, etc. Kids from both sides told me we did a great job calling the game.

I'm glad it worked out for you, but that's a disappointing answer from your wingman. Dealing with coaches is a part of officiating.
