a=offense b=defense
strange situation today in football game, the offensive team lines up with 9 players to the right of the center and 1 on the left the guy on left goes in motion and while hes in motion the center picks the ball up and tosses it to him while the quarter back is in the shotgun is this a legal snap. tim

In a snap, the movement must be a quick and continuous backward motion of the ball during which the ball immediately leaves the hand(s) of the snapper and touches a back or the ground before it touches an A lineman.
Is that what happened? If so, legal. |

Interesting play! Did he go in motion behind all the linemen or the other way. Great play off of that would be to run it once with him going behind his linemen, then later and have him sweep out right and throw back to the QB who delayed and then ran out to the left. |

I'm a bit confused about this one. There must have been 8 to the right of the snapper, or else you would have had 12 on offense.
You implied that all but the QB are on the line. There are specific rules about how a person on the line can be in motion at the snap, but you didn't reference them. So, was it 8 on the right and the initial position of the one on the left was in the backfield? |

i apologize for that rdfox their were 9 on the right of the center and the quarterback was online also and the 1 guy to the left of the center went in motion from offline and the ball was pitched directly to him from the center almost like doing a sweep in one motion
