Let say you have a turnover as the WH and you are the person that signals a TD for the defense. Do you signal again TD again as you do every other time there is a TD?
Peace

Since you say you signal everytime, when do you in this situation? |

On Rut's question, last Friday we had a punt returned for a TD. I got the to the goalline, signaled TD and got ready for the extra point. I didn't feel the need to signal and then signal again. But I do what Rich talked about on a score, scan the field and then signal the pressbox.
As much as you like to be the center of attention Rut, you should signal as often as possible. Hell, just run up and down the field a couple of times with you arms in the air. Maybe they'll get the hint. |

I signal both. The first just says we have the ball in the EZ, like any other official signaling. The score isn't awarded until after you have a chance to check the rest of the crew. Once they've all shown clear, award the TD as on any other play. But go upfield a bit and give it to the pressbox.

It seems like overkill to me.
The reason I asked the question, we had a game on tape a few weeks ago where there was a fumble caught in midair returned for a TD. I signaled the TD at the goal line and did no other signal after that. My crew members asked me why. I have not seen anyone do this and wanted to know if anyone else did this. I think that is personally overkill, but thought I would ask. I do of course signal when any other score is made.
Peace

I do not do that.
When I signal I do so where ever I am at. I do not specifically go to the 50 or any place else. I go up where ever I notice the there is a TD.
Peace

I do the same as Rich.
If the run is only 70 yards, I am sure I would be well past the 50 yard line. Did I mention that the Cardinals are going to the WORLD SERIES!!!! Peace

I would signal twice also. Once while watching the play making sure there is nothing cheap late. Then after making sure there was nothing to administer I would turn to the press box and signal again. I wouldn't turn and signal to the press box with the first signal as I would be turning my back to the players and who know what they are doing.
