Did Johnny Grier go down in Buffalo?

I just saw the Back Judge administer a roughing the passer foul.

Edit:

Just heard - Johnny Grier has a foot injury. Scott Green is the acting white hat. Cool. I know he'll kick a$$.

Edit 2:

Just like I said: kick a$$. They remembered to apply the illegal motion foul.

Edit 3:

I just realized after re-reading this post how funny it sounds to read that it's good that they remembered to apply the illegal motion foul. There was a toss to the EZ for a TD. On the play, a flag for IM was thrown. The defense challenged the play and it was upheld. They then remember to apply the IM foul, giving 2D/15. Kudos.

How do they decide who gets to replace the referee if he becomes unable to perform his duties??

Each crew has a designated fill-in assigned at the beginning of the season. The officials are trained in 6-person NFL mechanics. I imagine there are two deep officials (haven't yet seen them on TV in scrimmage formation).

PS: J, Laurier won yesterday, 44-3 and Alberta lost. I bet WLU moves up to #2!! We're going to the Vanier!!!!

Don't you think it's a bit early to be making those predictions? ;) It's too bad Marshall left Mac, they aren't doing as well as they have been in previous years.

Green just put on the White Hat.

Hey Mike,

Have you seen the new play-by-play system put out by the CFL??

Not really. We play Guelph, Ottawa and York. We should beat Guelph and York no problem. Ottawa is the only school to provide any opposition. So, there's a chance they can go undefeated in the OU regular season.

The Yates Cup will be huge. I hope to be on the stick crew, since it will be in Waterloo!! ;)

It doesn't work for me. :(

That's wierd, the link is the same one that I got in my e-mail, and it was working great yesterday and the day before.

Try it while a game is going on, it's really cool.

They changed the name of the Bowls. Do a google search for Churchhill or Mitchell.

I think it's now the Mitchell Bowl and Uteck Bowls that are the national semi-finals. The west plays for the Dunsmore Cup and the east the Hardy trophy.

I was on the CIS football site and checked the scheduels.

Ontario and Quebec are playing for the Uteck Bowl, and the Atlantic Conference and Canada West are playing for the Mitchell Bowl.

Last year didn't Ontario and Quebec play for the Mitchell Bowl??

They've been making too many changes, do you know where they're gonna be playing the high school bowl games this year??

Yes, Ontario played for the Mitchell Bowl. I think Herman was on that game. Surely you've seen the pictures. :)

I read somewhere that there is a revolving bowl schedule, the details of which I am not yet 100% familiar with. I think it has something to do with where the game is played. Ie... geographically, the game that is easterly most is the Mitchell Bowl. (Or vice versa.)

Also, I've got more educational dox for our website.

- How to use the bean bag in Canadian amateur football
- The Lines of Significance I promised
- The A B C's of penalty application

Check out the CIS 2003 Media Guide on our website... there is some good info in there.

w00t!! Finally some instruction on how to use a bean-bag,
thanks Mike.

I just remembered I have an OUA media guide somewhere in my room. I'm gonna check that out and see if it has any clarification in it.

And is there a Canadian ref who hasn't seen that picture :D
