NFL Rules: Kicking Fumbles

Is there a rule against the defense kicking a fumble back towards the offense's endzone instead of picking up the ball?

Is it a safety if the defense kicks it all the way out of the endzone?

Yes that would have been an illegal kick, I'm not sure of what the NFL enforcement owuld ave been. But on the play you saw on TV tongiht, the ball was already dead when it was kicked, that's why no flag.
