Game this past Friday. Time yourself to see how fast your reaction time is.
Everybody is lined up ready for a snap during the game. The center snaps the ball to the QB who is under center and it remains in both the center's and QB's hands. NOBODY moves after the snap. Center, QB, defense, nobody moves. What do we have? How long did it take you to figure it out? We blew it dead after what seemed like a minute but was probably only 2 or 3 seconds. Then we called the dead-ball illegal snap as the ball did not immediately leave the snapper's hand. Guess you don't see all of the really wierd plays during the little kid's games on Saturdays. |

We have a team in this area that runs this "play:"
A1 goes under center, the center "snaps" the ball, but doesn't let go of it. The QB, who hadn't touched the ball, then goes back and fakes a handoff. A tackle then comes around and takes the ball from the center and runs with it. I don't think I want to waste my time typing everything that is illegal about this. Anyway, I hope someone (and it's not my job) told them this "play" is illegal.
