I was working a youth game a few days ago. When I arrived, I noticed there were no pads on the goal posts. So I asked the admin., he told me they couldn't find the things anywhere. So I told him we couldn't start until they were padded with something.

While the admin. was putting some floor mats around the posts, another official was telling me that he worked a varsity game out here a week before, and they didn't even worry about the things not being padded. HUH?! I swear, some people have a sign on their back that says "sue me."

Just make sure you pay attention to these things before you start a game

About 3 years ago I was working a freshman game. Before the game we walked the field and there was like a rock or cement block near the end zone. It was in the ground and was about a yard in length. It took us about 10 or 15 minutes to get someone to get some sand and pour on the area. It was like no one even realized this thing was on the field.

I was to say the least in a little shock.

Peace

If they can't find any padding, then I'm going home
