A ball 2nd 11 at the A 2 yd line. 8:52 left in the first quarter clock is running, ball is made ready...boom, lightning strikes. 30 minute (give or take) delay....when we resume play should we wind it on the ready, or on the snap???.... I think it should probably be the ready, but we went with the snap.... just something to think about, that had never really crossed my mind...

The clock was stopped for an official's timeout. Just like an injury. Wind it.

With 8:52 in the first quarter it really is a moot point but what if this happened with less time in the second or fourth quarter? Clock starts on the ready in my game.

No reason not to start on the ready, you are continuing from where you left off. Doesn't matter how long of a delay. I've had injury delays that have lasted longer than that.
