I'm in the process of putting a crew together for eventually doing varsity games after we work together for a few years. I have two guys (including me) with 3 to 4 years in. We are both pretty knowledgeable about the game, but lack the white hat experience. I have two older guys that have 15+ years in but don't have the discipline to learn clock management or penalty enforcement, and I have a rookie. How would you position us? I have been told to keep seasoned people on the wings because a thicker shell is needed and the younger guys might not know how to handle the bench. Rookies usually start out at ump, but then the white hat doesn't have the knowledge to help him out in case there is a tough situation to unravel.
