I was wondering how some other people keep in shape during the offseason. I am also a Basketball official but don't have a spring sport, so I am looking forward to a good offseason getting ready for football. I was just seeing if there are any good workouts especially designed for officials, for the offseason.

Thanks, I look forward to some good ideas!

Ever look into lacrosse? Great, pretty much the same uniform as football(which is nice) and it will keep you in good shape too! It's high payed(atleast where I am) but can be a little tricky for someone to learn because its not as popular as basketball/football/baseball.

I am a member at our local YMCA and use its facilities to stay in shape (or actually get in shape) during the offseason. I hit the weightroom 3 days a week, and use the tread mill or stair climber alternate days. I also attend the "Fit for Life" (should be called "Fit for Death") class 3 days a week. I find I am capable of handling an FB season pretty well following this regimen.

The class uses running, stretching, stepping, sprints (suicides...) etc and really gets you moving. Not only does it keep in shape for FB, I can keep up with my 6, 4, and 2 year old kids. SOmetimes that's more difficult.
