Favorite NFL Official
Larry Nemmers. Without a doubt. He looks so professional. He never seems upset. He obviously lifts weights and is in great shape. There never seems to be a controversy in a game he does.

I wish this board was more busy myself. Probably going to get slower now that the season is done for most officials . I hope you guys stick around because I've learned alot from this board . Don't have a opinion on NFL officials .Haven't paid much attention to them .

Favorite NFL official
If there were anyone in officiating I would like to pattern myself after or imitate, it would be Jim Tunney, since retired. Although there are many very fine and knowledgeable NFL officials, Jim Tunney just seemed to have everyone's respect. He seemed to speak when he had something to say, react when there was something to react to, and use judgement as his best modus operandi. Although I have never met him, his well-written books, his education, opinions of his peers, and the degree of respect which his presence in the NFL seemed to engender commanded a great deal of respect. I might say the same of Dick Jorgensen (since passed away) and Ben Dreith.

You all echo my thoughts exactly. The gmcgriff board is getting too crowded with non-officals, people with an axe to grind, and 'idiots'.
I promise anything you fellows post I will read and respond to if I feel I have anything to add. I have always enjoyed seeing Johnny Grier work the referee and always watch out for FJ Tim Millis #80 the supervisor for Big XII officials. |
