Sounds very bad. I know you don't know these. Was he within 15 yards of the ball after RFP? It sounds like they used a substitution situation to hide a player. Was he covered by a defender? It would be nice to find out what really happened as newspapers are notorious for leaving out the details we officials would like to see.

Trick Play

Why isn't this play a violation of rule 9.6.4 (c) of the NFHS rules?

Good point- looks like we might have to go back and replay the 4th quarter on Monday!

I don't who worked this game but I know the MHSAA wouldn't allow any protest. A major emphasis of our association this year was following NF mechanics and staying in line with NF interpretaions.

As a side note, Fulton lost to Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes today 21-20. Waterford is the defending state champion in their division.

Sent that story to our state director. He assured me that would never happen here!

Fulton is lucky I was not calling the game and that happened on my sideline. They would have been backing up after my flag was on the ground.
Sad for the kids as they probably think it was an "honorable" way to win the game.
