I had a situation in a high school game on a onside kick kick where the receiver while on the ground possesed the ball for a split second then popped out and k recovered. I blew it dead and ruled it R's ball. Our back judge didn't think r had possesion. Our ruling was inadvertant whistle rekick. I'm still ticked off! Any comments

Just as coaches and officials do not always agree, sometimes officials and officials do not agree. The R should listen to what each of you have to say and get the opinion of any other official who thought they had a good look at the play. If I were R, I would decide based on who I thought was in the best position to rule on the play and any input I got from other crew members. Even if it goes against the way you saw the play, don't second guess yourself and do not argue about it while on the field. If you think it needs further discussion wait until you get to the dressing room.
