I noticed recently my northwestern stripe socks had become faded as though the black dye had run onto the white leaving the white stripes a slight gray.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

And, how did you, if you did, solve it?

A little tape will fix them right up! Some white athletic wrapping tape and black electrical tape, just wrap up the whole sock! Works like a charm!!

Kidding, obviously

Mine turn a little grayish where they are inside my shoes, but I've never had a problem like you describe...

Never had a problem like you described. Instead of using a ton of bleach to get the socks white, try Simple Green. You can get it in the automotive section at most Wal-marts. The stuff is amazing. Had a mud game earlier this year and got home late - forgot to wash my clothes that night. Simple Green cleaned them right up, no spots or stains.

BTW - Do NOT use it on regular clothes - it'll eat them up. Never had a problem w/ football stuff, must be the material. Sometimes my socks wear out a little early, but they usually last a couple seasons.
