I agree with those that suggest the team can come to the sideline to confer with coaches and must stay on the field. Also, Coach must stay off the field.

Wing guys MUST oversee this. As a wing, I proactively tell the coach and the players at the beginning of the timeout:

1) Coaches must remain off field
2) Players must remain on field
3) When the player is attended to and off the field, we're ready to go. You need to be ready to go.
4) I will remain in the area to let you know when it's time to get back to the ball.

I see a large number of wing guys not take this responsibility seriously during an injury timeout. They wander to the middle of the field or look the other way as coaches pour onto the field on their sideline. It looks bad and is unfair to the team across the field that is playing by the rules.
