We're not talking about a real game...

...we're talking about charity (in my best allen iverson 'voice').

Unreal.

Thumbs down

It's also possible the officials were donating their time. I've done that before for charity events. To go after a ref at a charity event that was promoting non-violence in the community is worse than bad. It's atrocious.

I've done some charity stuff for the local Fire Dept/Police Dept in years past. Was blown away by the vitriol displayed by players and fans alike during the games. Never done that particular charity event again.

This is why you do not do this crap in the first place. People lose their minds when they feel entitled. Lil Wayne is an entertainer that is probably used to people giving him his way. Why put yourself in an environment where they are not going to respect what you do and what have no way to be held accountable for their actions? I would be careful of ever working these things unless you are aware of the environment and how it works.

Peace

The most rewarding game I ever worked was quite a few years ago between the Portland Trailblazer Alumni Team (former Blazer players who play for charities) vs. coaches and teachers from my local HS. The game was played to raise money for the HS athletic fund. There wasn't a single complaint from any of the players to me or my partner the entire game. The crowd was very supportive, too. They really just wanted to see the players do their "stuff". Some of the ex-pros came over after the game to thank us. It's quite a memory.

Oh yeah, my partner (the Immortal Dave) and I both donated our fees to the athletic fund, too.

Mark, your normally impeccable spelling skills have deteriorated over time. Somehow you slipped up and added a "t" in describing your pal Dave.
Hope all is well otherwise.
