UConn/Duke F1 video request

13:10 second half on ESPN. Duke player gets a steal and is fouled in transition. Karl Hess called a Flagrant 1. The contact was not excessive, although it was pretty clear the UConn player was trying to foul.

The F1 was a good call, contact from behind trying to negate an obvious advantageous position.

I'd like to know what the defender did wrong to get a foul at 9:21 second half other than get in Okafor's way.

Foul at 8:20 as well.

Post No intentional fouls

To my knowledge, there are no intentional fouls in NCAA men's anymore. They were replaced with Flagrant 1s. I am sure the NCAA officials will be around to clarify.

Does Jay Bilas not understand what incidental contact is? He sure is on his game tonight.

There are none. We shouldn't expect the stadium announcer to know the rules (who was heard in the background announcing an intentional foul), although I think Shulman pointed out it's called a Flagrant 1 now.

Post Wow...

1:24 left. Okafur travels and has contact with Brimah and the officials give Brimah his fifth. Luckily Brimah has been out of his league in this game so not a big deal.

Disconcertion?

Would anyone consider calling disconcertion on the clapping UConn player nearest the shooter on the free throw at 1:24?

Not sure there's a travel there, replay was inconclusive. I actually felt sorry for Brimah when he fouled out

Not in a D1 game. Youth game in a totally quiet gym? You betcha.
