Video Request Arizona/Oregon (Video)
If it's possible thanks.
Block/Charge at the 11:11 mark of the 2nd half. Called a block. Thoughts on this. |
Please, if someone would post a video clip of 14:59, 1st half, also.
A block/charge call by Dave Hall, that I found quite perplexing. Thanks in advance. |

I thought both were correct calls based on the NCAA rule change.
FWIW, both were shown in the highlights shown on Olbermann last night and I went back and watched both a second time. |

1) Is now a block at the NCAA-Men's level. If it is even close, they want a block.
2) Defender was there in time and outside the arc; then turns his upper body into the shooter, which I think gave the Lead the impression that he moved. |
I'm glad I'm just a lowly HS official when it comes to plays like this. :)

In the first, I'm seeing a block, and I don't need no stinking rule changes to see it. But I've been wrong before.
Note that the C also went up with the call, but deferred to the L, which would seem to take the theory the defender "gave the Lead the impression that he moved" out of the equation. Maybe C swallowed the whistle to avoid a blarge. |

I think both are PC fouls even with the rule change.
Have I mentioned I hate the rule change? |
I think they are both offensive fouls. At least in the games I'm doing they are.
