Video Request Arizona/Oregon (Video)

If it's possible thanks.

Block/Charge at the 11:11 mark of the 2nd half.

Called a block. Thoughts on this.

Please, if someone would post a video clip of 14:59, 1st half, also.
A block/charge call by Dave Hall, that I found quite perplexing.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, my internet supplier doesn't allow me to do that.

I thought both were correct calls based on the NCAA rule change.

FWIW, both were shown in the highlights shown on Olbermann last night and I went back and watched both a second time.

1) Is now a block at the NCAA-Men's level. If it is even close, they want a block.

2) Defender was there in time and outside the arc; then turns his upper body into the shooter, which I think gave the Lead the impression that he moved.

I'm glad I'm just a lowly HS official when it comes to plays like this.

I think that is a charge. Very close, but I think he is there. And I would still default to a charge on a play that close. Charges stop offensive players from going head strong into defenders. Then again that is me.

I agree.

Peace

In the first, I'm seeing a block, and I don't need no stinking rule changes to see it. But I've been wrong before.

Note that the C also went up with the call, but deferred to the L, which would seem to take the theory the defender "gave the Lead the impression that he moved" out of the equation. Maybe C swallowed the whistle to avoid a blarge.

Really, how so? Not sure how the C having/not having a whistle on the play changes what the L thought he saw.

I think both are PC fouls even with the rule change.

Have I mentioned I hate the rule change?

I think they are both offensive fouls. At least in the games I'm doing they are.

I agree.

I agree with Jeff and I go back to his line from last month: this is what NCAAM wants. Let them deal with it
