3 Cs
I am starting to get more high profile games...Rivalries, packed gyms, loud crowds and active coaches pacing sidelines like a tiger!
Find myself getting too Amped up at times during these type of games. Advice on the 3 Cs...staying cool, calm and collective? |

There is more to being a good official than those things.
Honestly you will not be those things until you have been in enough of those situations. Your maturation might happen quicker or even slower than others, but I do not think you just get there by just willing it there. You have to see plays and deal with situation a few times and then you get those things. Some of that will be helped by seeing experienced partners deal with those situations with you in the game. My point is there is not magic bullet. Of course being knowledgeable of the rules and mechanics helps give you less to think about during a game, but you still have to go through the fire a few times to realize how to avoid the flames. Peace

fixed it for ya
On the court you are probably two of three, but you don't have the looks of seven of nine.
If you are ready, you'll do fine in your big games. |
