Video Request: Our new favorite official (Clip Added)
Please, oh please, somebody tell me what W4 did wrong to earn a foul call at 17:51 of the 2nd half of the SMU/USF game on ESPNEWS.
Thanks APG: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/e8Tg6T9lPcQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Can someone still post it if it's not too much trouble?
Those outside of the US can't watch ESPN's stream. Thanks. |

I'll try to post here and in the other thread sometime today. Hopefully my computer/internet aren't ice cold and comply.

Leaned into the path and clobbered the guy? |
Looks to me like #4 got to the ball first and was run into by the red player. I would have no problem if there was simply a no-call here. But I do see why a call was made, just not a very good reason I can come up with what they did illegally.
Peace |
Looks like a foul by the defender for extending his arms into the path of the offensive player.
|
In all speeds this looked like a foul. How this would be a no call IMO is a tough sell.
|
I see W4 with his hands on an airborne pass and then getting wiped out by R12 from behind.
I have a lot easier time explaining a no-call, 2 players arrive at the same point at the same time in equally advantageous positions, then I do explaining what W4 did wrong. If R11 were still dribbling the ball, and this contact occurred, it would have been an illegal screen. |
What Nevada said. And that arm extending and contacting the offensive player actually results in rerout/hold/displace type of contact foul.
I didn't like it at first in real time, but heck of a call after seeing it again. |
