It could possible make a difference when the association hands down the suspension. If it's flagrant, and that would be, make it flagrant, second T or not.

Fair point, agreed.

I strongly don't believe this rule was intended to apply when the offenders were all different people.

Ending a game is a NUCLEAR option. Nobody should *ever* end a game early unless there's a really good reason for it.

I forfeited a game once in 28 years:

2 or 3 minutes left, visitors up 3 or 4, and I call an illegal dribble on the visitors point guard. The coach got bug-eyed. He stepped 5 feet out onto the court and screamed, "You're crazy!!!" Whack. He got closer and louder. "You'll never do this to me again. etc. etc." Whack. Bye bye. (not in this game I won't) After a bit of a struggle, (partner handled it) he left. A lady from the stands and the principal came over to finish the game. She coached, he just sat there. Visitors went from up 3 to down 4, just a few seconds left, out of bounds. They call time out, I can't imagine why. I heard her say in the huddle, "The game is over." Now he steps out on the court and proceeds to get personal. I think: I really don't need to hear this. Whack. He says, "Good, call another one!" Whack. He says, "Why don't you just go to hell!" I say,
"Ball game," and walk away from him.

At the very end of my first year I had a contest terminated for me by the competition authority (it was an AAU tournament with a neutral gym manager / supervisor from the league office, and he made the decision).

The coach in this particular game had chipped in the 2nd quarter, gotten told to knock it off by my partner (state tournament official), and mostly complied, but started getting more and more verbal as the game got out of hand in the 4th quarter (30 or 40 point game). Partner told him once more that we'd had enough, and shortly after (about a minute to go in the game) he was on the floor barking (oddly, it was after I gave the ball back to his team on a traveling call...he wanted to know "Where was that call in the FIRST QUARTER??"). So I whacked him. In this tournament it's two automatic points instead of the FTs, so I tell the scorer and turn to go across and administer the throw-in. When I get there he's ten feet on the floor shouting at me, profanely. I glance to partner on end line (my first year, remember), who smiles and nods. Whack, get out.

With less than a minute to go and several parents (including this team's scorekeeper) on their feet looking belligerent, the game manager stepped onto the floor and announced that the game was over. We retired to the facility office to write reports.
