>9. No. A player in FIBA could have 4 technical fouls and still be playing. He is disqualified when he has a total of five fouls (personal or technical combined). In reality, the ref can call a technical foul or a disqualifying foul, so you just make your 2nd technical a disqualifying foul and he is gone.<

In FIBA play, a "delay of game" foul is charged on the player and counts as a T in FIBA play. Two delay of game calls won't eject a player. What FIBA Article 49 defines as a T are things which are charged towards a player. Obviously you don't eject a player for three delay of game T's. But 5 and the player has fouled out.

I thought that I read (before an Olympicsno doubt) of a rule difference in FIBA where you cannot intentionally throw the ball off another player to retain possession. That is, for your answer 10, by this rule B would get ball because A is not allowed to toss ball off B when saving to gain possession. Can anybody confirm (other than Mark P)?

Hawks Coach,

I think that was an old rule. A fellow official mentionned that to me a few years ago. In the three years I have been officiating, the rule has been no different than NCAA, NBA Etc...
