When would the shot in the video be zero points?

If time had expired while the shot was in the air. Only legal trys into one's own basket can enter after the buzzer and be counted.

Or if a foul had occurred while the ball was in the air.

Yeah I knew that. I was confused and thinking he meant the example in the video could have been zero points. I think I am on the same page now.

The best part is that one of the announcers on the video thinks it's a 3-pointer because the player was "behind the line". I didn't know Billy Packer was on the Today Show. :rolleyes:

For a small fee (small for television) I will be pleased to consult with Today reporters on any basketball rule issue. How early do I have to be there? Wait? I'm being told ... What time? 7:00 air time? A.M.? Never mind.

Now that is a great, yet rare inadvertent awarded points to the opposing team basket.
