Happy Labor Day ...
The vital force of labor added materially to the highest standard of living and the greatest production the world has ever known and has brought us closer to the realization of our traditional ideals of economic and political democracy. It is appropriate, therefore, that the nation pay tribute on Labor Day to the creator of so much of the nation’s strength, freedom, and leadership - the American worker. (US Department of Labor)

That being said, now let's get out there and fire up those grills. I'm all out of lighter fluid, so I'm going to use gasoline. That shouldn't be a problem? Right?

My father actually did this at a picnic one summer. No lighter fluid for the charcoal briquettes. Back then, due to "blue laws" here in The Land Of Steady Habits, stores weren't open on Sundays, and holidays. We're all waiting for our hot dogs, and hamburgs, so he gets out the gasoline can for the lawn mower and soaks the briquettes with the gasoline. He takes a step back, and throws a match into the grill and, I swear, the fireball went at least ten feet into the air. He escaped serious injury, coming out with only a few singed eyebrows.
