I'm not sure what, but it seems important to the OP since he put it in his thread title. ;)

I'm wondering if the OP wanted the post to say .3...and thought it would be OK to just throw the ball, from OOB, right in the hoop.

ART. 7

The thrown ball shall not enter the basket before it touches or is touched by another player.

How about 5-1-1

5-1-1

No goal is scored if an untouched throw-in goes through the basket.

That's strictly to ensure no one drops the proverbial ball and scores the basket because a live ball went through a basket.

Gottcha...

I'm talking about scoring regulations, when everyone else is talking about throw-in provisions. :o

Either should be sufficient alone, but they added the redundancy. If only they could apply that clarity to the BC rule.

Plus, the only way it could have gone in with a running clock would be if it had been a full court throw from the far endline. I suppose that could happen. The bigger discussion in that case would be the fact that it went in at all.

In that case I'd think twice about counting the bucket. :D

sorry so late

Yes got violation and throw in right, But with continuos play, clock running time stopped by violation with 3 sec on board. Should additional time be added or not? None was given though coach wanted it. How do these things happen? Score 2 pt difference.
Thanks for your responses.

No reason for time to be added back to the clock unless it was started improperly or didnt stop properly.

Can you describe the situation? How do you have an untouched throw in pass go through the basket with a running clock?

Throw in pass after a made basket.

I'd like to see the op confirm that, since it's very unlikely. Might even be on YouTube.
