Another first for me

Basket Interference so obvious, we had a triple whistle! And no, I was not the Lead.

Is it always the Trails call or does the C ever get that?

C or T in a half-court game (usually whoever does not have the shooter, unless the shot is right at the basket); L can get it during transition.

Yea, that makes sense about the shooter, thanks.

Nice...but I can beat that. JV boys last night...working with 2 partners who are both doing their first "real" three person game. We had a triple whistle on a travel in the key (just below the free throw line).

They were all freaked out about it in the locker room and worried about who messed up...I just kept laughing about it and told them they did a nice job for their first game.

How do you usually handle that? In Oklahoma the only classes that are 3 man are 6A and 5A, the top 2 classes. I do about 10 nights a season of 3 man. I know you stay with the ball when it leaves your PCA until the status of ball changes. When my partners and I go call the 3 man games, we don't usually worry about that, we just want to get it right, and I don't worry to much about Lead taking that even though it came from my PCA. Any thoughts?

Similar situation except with two very experienced partners. Triple whistle at the same spot; one PC foul, one Block and one Travel.

Really depends on who I am working with that night...With most partners I try to explain why it was my call to make, and show them on the good old court diagram. With some partners, I just shrug and move on.

If your partners really want to learn, bring it up in the locker room in the form of a question..."Hey, I am really struggling with a play we had. I think it should have been my call, but I am not sure..."

A redo?

Edit...On a serious note, once the travel was introduced, this one actually requires a discussion as that can supersede the others if it happened first....getting everyone out of the mess.

My guess is that the travel happened first because the official calling the travel probably saw contact (which ever way it could have gone) and ruled that the travel happened before the contact making any judgement on the contact moot.
