Tim Higgins

I thought for sure in the summer I saw an article stating that he was retiring, then I just watched the Texas/Chaminade highlights, and there was someone officiating who looked an awful lot like him, and I look at the box score, and sure enough his name was there.

No, Tim Higgins, while watching the highlights, I thought it looked a lot like him, but then I said it can't be because he retired, so I went to the box score, and Tim Higgins was there. In fact, looking at statsheet.com, he worked the Penn/Delaware game a week ago.

What's more troubling is the 110 fouls called in his two games thus far. Obviously not all called by him, but those must have been two hack fests!

A friend of mine called me earlier tonight with the same question.
His retirement was announced last March: Longtime refs Tim Higgins, Bob Donato to retire - NCAAB - Sporting News

Evidently, he thought otherwise.

Jim Burr is a D3 assognor and at his pre-season meeting, he mentioned that the Hawaii tourney was Higgins' farewell.

Tim Higgins

Hank Nichols who assigns the Maui tournament sent Tim Higgins there as a "reward" for his work the past 25 years or so. Classy move by Hank.

You definitely have the eyesight to be an official because even I can tell the difference between the two of them.

I thought all white men with white hair looked alike? Considering I get assumed to be someone else that I look nothing like, I thought that applied to everyone.

BTW, I saw that Higgins did work the game in question. I was not home and saw the highlights of another game where Jim Burr was working.

Peace
