Front court vs backcourt status

BC... Reference BC/FC ...you are where you are until you get to where your going. A2 is still in his F/C until he lifts that one foot touching in the F/C

If he caught the ball with one foot on each side of the line, he had already arrived.

arrived where?

Straddling the mid-court line gives that player (in any situation) BC status.

When a player is touching the backcourt, out of bounds or the three-point line, the player is located in backcourt, out of bounds or inside the three-point line, respectively.

And that is how I tried to explain it to him. He just would not agree to it. It makes me sick to my stomach when officials use rules that have no basis in the books.

The coach probably didn't like that the player came from the FC and only needed 1 foot in the BC, with the other still in the FC, to obtain BC status.
