And So It Begins

My first official school game (middle school) is now on my schedule in Arbiter. October 29. That just seems early.

grunewar Tue Oct 09, 2012 08:11pm

Let the games begin!

We have our first meeting on the 27th, get books, etc.

I'm sure scrimmages will start-up soon thereafter.

Meetings already in full swing, first scrimmage Sunday. Start stretching...

Well I worked a JUCO Jamboree on Sunday. I worked 4 games that were running clock, but intense. Do not know if I will work another game until late November.

Peace

Our meeting is a day later. I'm ready. I only hope that the 'ole body is likewise.

Coping in Bad Economy

This two-job thing has me unavailable for MS games, but trying to make up for that by meeting with rookies and second-year officials weekly for rules or positioning/signalling sessions. Pre-season scrimmages between now and end of November for first official hardwood assignment. Full schedule beyond that.
Being over-employed has it's downside. :(
Anybody want to buy a plumbing company?

First meeting is October 17. Catholic middle school games start on November 3. High school girls start practice (and scrimmages) on November 19 and have first game on December 5. High school boys start practice (and scrimmages) on November 26 and have first game on December 12. Private prep high school games begin the first week in December.

Profitability wise yes. As long as things keep going downhill.
I just hate it when my employment gets in the way of my officiating.
Need a vacation to get down to just one vocation to foster my avocation.

It is? I was told it was on the 21st. Of course the web site still has last year's dates on it. Can you get me the real scoop? I have an assigned college scrimmage on the 28th.

Do you not have middle school football there in the fall?

jeremy341a Wed Oct 10, 2012 09:00am

All of the school around us are very small and don't have it. Most don't even have high school football. Some of the school do play there middle school games later at the same time as the high schools.

It's coming. Scrimmages start in a couple of weeks here. And evidently something went amiss between my chapter and the state because I'm showing as my dues not paid for this year. Ugh.

How about junior high school soccer, cross country, girls volleyball, or girls field hockey?

These are the traditional junior high school (middle school) fall sports here in my little corner of Connecticut. Scholastic basketball (middle school, high school, boys, and girls) is a strictly winter sport.
