What can I say. Just completing my first year as an offical and I am humbled by this book and the follow-up articles by Eric (thanks Chuck for posting the web site)

Should be required reading for any Offical wanting to walk on the court.

I knew I loved officiating the first day I walked in class and on the court- it just keeps getting better. Yet people around me just can't understand- unless you are another official

So much to learn- so much fun ahead.. To quote Earl and Eric Strom
"Dad finished his biography with one last game, a dream game with all of the greats at their best. After Wilt wins the game from the free throw line, Red Auerbach chases after Dad one last time and they have this exchange. "You know Strom, did it ever occur to you, you've been in this game seems like a hundred years and you've never been on the winning side?" Red sticks a cigar in Dad's mouth and lights it. "Yeah, you never had the pleasure of smoking a victory cigar." Dad puffs a big cloud over both of them and grins, "You're wrong Red, I had one every night.""
