I don't believe this specific instance had to do with physical conditioning as much as it had to do with officiating till the final horn. Looks like he was thinking about a hot shower a few seconds too soon......

This is definitely a bad sequence. Although if the initial shot would have been counted a 3 as it should have been, then the whole space time continuum would have been changed and the kid on the free throw line would have made that free throw and they still would have lost by one.

Certainly things may have played out differently. More pressure on the kid at the line with only a 3 point lead, though. I will go with my earlier post on this one.

Right. The new L - who did right by sneaking a peek since it was in transition - should've come out with conviction when the shot was made and during the time out to say it was a 3. I'll agree, there's no way the new T could've seen anything but there's no way the C could've called it either since he had to be a good 15 feet behind the play.

What's worse is the C's only job on transition plays is to stay with the ball between the arcs. The guy was half-walking, half-jogging from the moment the play started.

I was making that statement overall moreso that this specific play. Conditioning can put you in or out of position for these key plays after you have been running for 31:50 hard.

Agreed. But this was just a C not working in transition.
