Recent AAU game 16U (I think), boys. A is faster, stronger, smarter, taller, jumps higher, has better ballhandlers and defense. Sadly, coach B is louder.

Early first half B has the ball for a throw-in under their basket, I count to 5, blow the whistle. Coach B jumps up & starts yelling: "I couldn't see your arm move! If your arm ain't moving you can't have 5!" He was serious. New one for me.

Tell him you were moving your middle leg - it's an new, approved mechanic.

I would have but I normally keep it strapped down to my ankle and I can't lie with a straight face.

(Any guesses on the over/under for this thread remaining?)

Just as bad, in a recent AAU game, I was crucified by a coach for not showing him a visible count for 3 second violations....

I had a CYO coach complain that he couldn't see my 5 second closely guarded signal. (He wanted it called) And he was a fellow official!

Yeah, but only when I'm wearing my high heels (and running backwards).

I think the blisters are probably the result of working a few too many "one-man games".

PS:Note that I resisted responding to the "yanked by Brad" comment.Must be finally maturing a little.

So, why wasn't your arm moving? (2-7-9 :))

I'm glad you got it. I was worried that it was a little too subtle for this thread

Th short answer is it was. Problem was the coach must have
left his x-ray glasses home to see thru the bodies. Even if he had his x-ray glasses on I doubt seriously that he was watching me count, he was more than likely trying to help his player find an open man.

Does your wife believe you when you tell her they're just blisters?

I knew you would and I know it must be memorable (note to self: don't click on any .gif files emailed from JR for the next week or so). You did catch me off guard by not posting it. And I knew the direction this thread took would bring you out of the woodwork! :)

BTW Chuck, "yank" in this thread is about as subtle as a train wreck.

She hasn't bothered to get a first "hand" look in quite a while. . .
